Some Newark folks in need this holiday season received over 100 pounds of beef donated by BuckinBurger, a fresh made-to-order burger concept which opened up off 21st Street in Newark, Ohio last month. The restaurant consists of an ownership team born and raised in the Licking/Muskingum region and they’re excited about the opportunity to give back to the community through their local business. “We’ve all got our roots in this area and we want to do anything we can to give back,” said co-owner Dan Woodward. The Society of St. Vincent de Paul received the food. St. Vincent Haven’s mission is to “Provide emergency and transitional housing for those that are homeless with the goal of building the individual’s life skills and self-reliance as a foundation for permanent housing.” The facility is primarily privately funded and relies on the community for financial and volunteer help to carry out its charitable mission.
